A Million Bucks

This weekend all of the big people in my house were struck with a stomach bug and  the accompanying  grumpiness, snappiness and general unhappiness that comes free of charge.
We're all better - thank goodness! But, there was no way I was going to convince Hubby to snap a photo of my HEAD to TOE thrifted outfit on our first morning sans-illness.

Top: A striped peplum tank from the Gap via Salvation Army $4.00

Jacket: It's October, people! Finally get to wear my ALL-TIME favorite find. A denim jacket complete with DIY elephant. Here is the jacket making its All Over Thrift debut 49 weeks ago. Since then it's had a jazzy makeover thanks to my girlfriend's Bedazzler. $5, but truly priceless!

Bottom Half: It's hard to take a "Trouser Selfie" (ick, ick, ick, just sounds wrong) but they are army green and silky from New York & Company. Just $6!
My shoes are a find from this weekend. Embroidered slip-ons that must have been designed with a royal mindset. $2.50

That's $17.50 head to toe but I feel like a million bucks!

A Moment for Palettes

There is nothing better than a color palette serendipitously appearing in your shopping cart. Except maybe a mineral skirt.

Exhibit A: I should note, everything also matched what I was wearing and the cover of a book Hubby found.

Exhibit B: Mineral skirt

You be the judge. If it were up to me, I'd go with mineral skirt!

Tears & Such

He said no. To this coat. It fit him like a dream and I literally hunted it out of someone else's hands. He said the fringe was too much. Cue uncontrollable sobbing.

Story Time

Of my finds today, nothing pulls at my heart like the jewelry box. My mom has one just like it and I still remember the feeling of awe as a little girl when she let me open it. I would carefully look at each and every piece, my posture noticeably better and my fingers oh so gentle. Recently, she opened that special box and gave me her wedding ring, to keep, forever. I've worn it every moment since and can't imagine ever parting with the delicate swirl of gold and diamond.

My second score of the day: denim for my boy. Is there anything more precious than little boy denim? It gives off an incredible energy of all the grass stains and tumbling to come.

Two books for me...

An XXXL (no joke) blouse. I promise there is a vision here, folks!

And something that didn't make it home but gave me a giggle. The chain is removable. That's all I'm going to say.

My treasures today were $8.

Acid Green, I love you!

These jeans need to just stop it with their cuteness.

They are Silence + Noise high rise ankle zip in a vibrant green. I'm glad I was shopping with a close friend when I found them because anyone else might have judged the verocity in which I grabbed the hanger. $3.25. I'm about as happy as I can be.

The Magic of Thrift

I was seriously excited to do some thrifting with my bestie because... wait for it... she has never thrifted before. After searching through racks for a little over an hour, she walked out of the Salvation Army with 3 shirts, 1 jacket and a book for NINE dollars. Another convert to the Church of Thrift.
